  • Please correct me: DG250M automatic transmission

I have a a DG250M with low miles. I have a customer who wants it for his 1953 or 1954 Commander. Currently he is running a DG250 with a V8. I told him that DG250 was a 2nd gear start and that the DG250M was a 1st gear start. Now can he take his transmission out and leave his bell housing and converter on and replace his transmission with my dg250M?

I would feel confident that you could. The gearing was controlled by the valve body and had nothing to do with the converter. Be aware that you need special tools to install the trans into the converter.
