These are a 1954 accessory. I do not believe that they were offered for 1953.
They are AC-2497, Sportster Hub Cap and are used on either the stainless discs (wheelcovers) or the standard hub covers (hub caps).
They are not in the 1953 Accessory catalog or a late 1953 price list, but they are in the 1954 price list.
It has been awhile since I have seen any. Good luck!

I found 1 NOS one at the york meet last year, but, it would really have made my other 3 look OLD, lol

Is that the same spinner used on the trunk lid of the Packard Hawk?

My 53 Stude Sportster had a set. By the time I bought it in 62, 2 were missing and one was pretty banged up.

No, but many now have it on the Packard Hawk because they used to be more available.

Many were retrofitted to 1953 models because the 1953 to 1955 wheelcovers are quite similar. Of course, the true 1953 wheelcover with the three bars would be a little odd with two bar spinners on top.

They are identical looking except the Packard Hawk had gold centers.

Maybe I should just sell my spinners individually, to those people like me that only have 3....Id make 3 people REAL happy, lol

I've thought the same thing, after I saw a Lark at South Bend last spring with a set on a set of Speedster wire caps. Not sure they added anything to the apperance of the car. The owner removed them at night so they woldn't be stolen ????????
