4 barrel manifold

Just purchased and received a 4 barrel manifold serial #535861. The seller said it was from a 62 v8. Itend to trust him but just wand to verify. It is going on a 63 259 v8. What year is the manifold and best carb selection for a 259?
Tried to look it up to no avail.

That is an early style 4 bbl intake. It would probably be correct for 62. The AFB style started in 63 so far as I recall. You can still use a modern style Edelbrock carb, but you will need a carb adapter for it. The adapter/spacer will provide clearance for the throttle linkage and room for the secondary butterflies to open. Easy fix.
Use a 500 cfm Edelbrock for best results.
