  • 1958 packard hardtop

There looks to be a 'good' one of these cars on Ebay right now

Just look at the 'Packard' car listing . The car seems to be in long
term storage . It sure looks nice and complete to me and at only
$2,000 'buy it now' , represents pretty good value even in these
troubled economic times . These cars are few and far between.
And being number '626' , is one of the last 50 built !

      Here's the link~

We've seen this car here a time or two before. Bummer they still have not gotten it out of that garage for better pictures. I oughtta buy it- then I'd have a matched set- a sedan and a hardtop!!!

If I had it I would take the front clip and fins off. Put a 51 front clip and 52 tail lights on it. And I would bet that somebody's uncle had one just like it.

If you could graft a 53 nose and tail it might look like this.

how in the world did you know my uncle had one just like that???

after looking at "fatboy's" pic, i started thinking about other clips - but no, it looks right the way it is!!!

              it's not like there's a surplus of '58 hardtops...

'58 Packards are just right the way they are. Changing anything at all would take away from the Ultimate in Gaudiness.

PHEW, I can just smell that damp, moldy tomb. And, see it on the interior. Wear a mask if you go in there

The LR quarter looks to be filled with bondo. Still might not be bad, but I would have to see what the frame and bottom of the body looked like.

Agree, Bob. All that mold impressed me most.
May be a worthy project but...not for me.

it closed for $2K, so someone got a sweet deal on a rare car.

Well- that was the 'buy it now' amount. I agree- even if the frame was rotten it'll make for a good parts car if nothing else.
