Two mufflers in boxes labelled "Studebaker Automotive Sales Corporation", "part No. 1555447" came with a 61 Hawk I bought. Anybody know if these are correct for the 61 Hawk?

P/N 1555447: Muffler, Aluminized, Y-P Canada; used on station wagons without sliding roof: 62S, 63S, 64S. BPWe've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Thanks. I couldn't find a muffler listing for the 1961 Hawk so I thought 1555447 might be for the 61 hawk as well (because I don't know why it would be in the car). Do you happen to know the part number for a 1961 Hawk?quote:Originally posted by BobPalma

Assuming your 1961 Hawk is a South-Bend-built, domestic-production V-8, the Studebaker muffler part numbers are:
1539837 - Steel
1548925- Aluminized
