          That $195 adjusted for inflation, would be $1,200.63 today, so the engine kit was a bargain, but not the steal it would seem.

          The $5.00 R1 cams would be $30.79 in today's dollars, so I'd buy a few of those, please.

          However, $1080 in 1941, adjusted for inflation is only $16,601.44 today, making the new car seem somewhat more of a bargain.

                Or, for $195 in 1969 you could have bought 4 shares of Berkshire Hathaway stock, and today trade those 4 shares* for the best 4 Avantis on the planet with money left over.
