  • Orphan of the Day, 06-25, 1969 Diamond Reo Country Wagon

An example of a factory camper on the weekend, work truck during the week; on the Trend chassis:

FIELD & STREAM, America’s largest outdoor sports magazine, celebrates the outdoor experience with great stories, compelling photography, and sound advice while honoring the traditions hunters and fishermen have passed down for generations.

WOW! What a cool, cool vehicle! As if it wasn't neat enough to see a Diamond REO at all, there's the fact that it's a motorhome... and then the convertible payload is the capper! FANTASTIC!

Neat posting Craig, never seen a Diamond REO cabover of this vintage. If one were to say that it is a White Diamond REO, it would have a double meaning.

Never heard of the Trend chassis before, and I'm another one who never saw a Diamond Reo cabover of this vintage.
Anyone have more info on this chassis?

          Yes want.
It would look even cooler on the older White cabover, a classic of Art Deco curvature.http://tinyurl.com/63oann8

But I am a Reo fan (got one) and would be proud to be seen in it. I am sure you can tell it was designed to be a garbage truck. A rare case of the camper you hose down before the fishing trip.

Page through that Field & Stream link. It's a time machine. Among other things, there's Allis-Chalmers' sportsman's off-road 6-wheeler, and an 85HP outboard based on a Cooper [you just can't make this up] Climax.

That one is a 1965 White 3000. I posted it on April 1 of this year: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...highlight=1965
