  • Interior: Dash Wood Graining

Does anyone have a good lead on someone who does the Painted Wood Graining to the dash and interior window trim? Or...any suggestions on how to do it by ones self?
I have the 1940 Champion with the darker brown trim color.
    Thanks

Interesting topic as my grand daughters boyfriend came by to ask about some issues he has had with spraying paint. He has built a nice little side business decorating gaming controllers. The discussion got around a kit he had just purchased to do the hydrographics process. I'm going to stay in touch with him to see how well it goes as I have some ideas to use on my cars. I had never heard of the process until this week.

Well...that's just around the corner from me. I'm in Santa Rosa and the only thing between me and the Sac area is the dam mountain. If there was a tunnel I could be there in 20 minutes but instead I have to go around and it takes 3.25 hours. Still, it's worth the trip if need be. Thank you so much for the lead. I'll check in to it.
          Thanks

Then trouble with the new wood graining that I see is. It is beautiful but usually no the same color or style as what was in the car originally. In my 1940 commander I opted to very carefully clean the wood graining with alcohol and than some fine steel wool. I then put on seven coats of rattle can clear laquer. It looks great and it is the original studebaker factory graining style and color. My body man said there was a professional coating that he could have put on that would have looked even better. You may want to look into that.

Did they woodgrain the dash in 41? All my literature appears to show solid colors but someone who saw my car before it was painted said it was woodgrained.
