  • Wiper switch knob. Studebaker?

I've been poking around on that '54 Champion coupe we just dragged in. It seems like it was a nice little car! Highest trim level, auto trans, two tone paint (green and lighter green), etc. I spotted the wiper knob, and am wondering if it's original to the car or not. It's the type that goes in the middle of the top of the dash. I've never seen this style before, but then again, this is the first '53-'54 we've had here and I've never went around at shows looking at wiper knobs. I like the looks of it a lot better than the one on my truck, so that's where it's going.

The one on the left came from the '54. One on right is out of my '59, as I've seen in several other Studebakers.

    Thanks in advance! [8D]

Looks like a generic auto parts store replacement piece.

    But I've been wrong before...

Could be. A lot of other little pieces seem to be that.

That 54's supposed to have a tan (or maybe grey - should match the shift knob's color) plastic knob, that's more like a lever as it's got one "wing" to it.

Ya know, I knew that. [:I][:I] Same as that '55 Commander we got here. Lol..

So, I know this is quite a long shot, but anyone got a guess as to what that knob might fit? [)] Right now it fits my '59 fairly well.

Mr.Biggs is right you should have a gray knob. The earlier tan knob will fit,but would be the wrong color. You either have a generic or a knob that fit from some other make of car. You may even have a switch from another car that happened to fit.

The 54 wiper knob should look like this.

The same single "bat wing", which was in the 1953 sedans,
except it was the "Loma Grey" color
