  • Fuel System: Permatex the fuel sending unit to tank?

I have a new fuel sending unit gasket ready to install. Should I put a thin film of Permatex on both sides first. Would it hurt anything to do that? Thanks.

I just had my 56J sending unit rebuilt by TriStarr LLC in Seneca Falls, NY. They have a rubber material gasket that works just fine without a sealer.

          More info:

A cork/neoprene gasket, P/N 1516061 31/54, is also available from Chevs of the 40s, 1605 NE 112th St., Vancouver, WA
          98686, telephone 800-999-2438, www.chevsofthe40s.com. It's an exact fit.
