They were there on Wednesday. I called last week and inquired from Dennis as to the cost and shipping for a Distributor rotor for my '56. He quoted me a price of $7.50. I sent a cheque for thirty dollars and requested expedited shipping. On Wednesday, Denise called me and told me I hadn't sent sufficient funds. She said the part was $10.50 and that I had barely sent enough for ground shipping. She also complained that when things were sent Express US Mail, they weren't making it to their destinations, lately.

So, yes, they were there on Wednesday. Did you call the 574 area code or the 800 number?

He must have many things on his mind.

About five weeks ago, I ordered 13 or 14 items. Two weeks later...no show. I called, Dennis said he was waiting for one part (he told me he originally had!). I asked to cancel "that one part" as I needed the rest of what I asked for, as quick as I could get them.

He canceled the entire order!

Oh well...I assume much of what I ended up getting from another outlet originally came from SASCO anyway.

$19.50 to ship a distributor rotor??? I guess it's a good thing you didn't need a cap too.

I ordered a few things from SASCO not to long ago and I'm happy to say the order came without any glitchs. I'm sure he has alot on his mind, I do not envy his position right now.

Yeah.. I thought the same thing myself...
A $10 part,.. and $20 shipping. Something just didn't jive right in my mind??
Granted I don't envy his position right now either... but this situation don't make sense either.
Some more of these type "rumors" get out and he could lose what loyal customers he has now.
I just homestly can't see even next day air FedX charging $20 shipping for something like that.. and I figure it wasn't THAT urgent.

STOP!![:0]

My mistake, sorry![:I] I ordered TWO rotors and the cheque was for thirty-five dollars. With the price that Denise quoted me it came to twenty-one dollars and then left only forteen for shipping. I wanted it shipped next day, if possible. Yes, nextday is expensive. However, my primary transportation car is down because of this broken rotor. Dummy me, if there was a problem with insuffient funds, I should have just reduced the order to one rotor instead of two.

Gosh, I wish I was in a position to help with SASCO.:( We'll all be much poorer without the company.[B)] It does seem like a dark future for the SASCO.[V] The saddest thing is that SASCO is one of the last original companies that trace back to the days when Studebaker was still alive.:(
