How much horsepower increase do you think the dual carb. and exhauxt with hi-comp. head would add to a 48 Champion that is bone stock with about 6,000 miles on rebuild[?]

Gary, you may have already seen this, and perhaps you are asking for other opinions from folks who have tried these mods. But, see what Bill Cathcart has to say about both of those ways to increase horsepower. Look further down in his article about modifying a Champion engine:
