  • Car b q!

Had a old 55 Studebaker 4 door commander and I DARED to be different!
Here is what I started with

    Then I did this!

    and went to this

Ended up with this at a local car show

and the interior will be red like the doors with a table in the center and umbrella.

Now it is getting its final paint, it is going to be Hot Rod Black with Flames!
    WHAT DO YA THINK?

    Nobody 'thinks' here
(they just tell you how smart they think they are)

Kind of neat, in a useless kind of way

Glad you went away from white.
    Shows BBQ sauce too easy.
Stove black black is easy to pressure wash off.

You should run a lil' blower and pump some smoke out back to a fake tailpipe (for effect)

Lazyman41: Jon is tight. You MUST suicide the rear doors for effect. Jeff is right. You should blow some smoke thru a tailpipe. Keep us updated with pics. Black with flames will be neat. stupak

I love it. You have me grinning big! I can think of all kinds of sayings and puns for this one.

From being called an ugly pig... to roasting ugly pigs!

Rent it out for political rally's so you can really "Serve up the pork!"

            Etc, Etc, Etc...

Your "Car B Q" is a great name!

Unemployed here, limited funds, would like to suicide the doors, even tried to fit it in the budget. Built one out of a 65 Mercury Monterey, next building one out of a 65 Corvair and then a 77 MGB. Found a 67 4 door Lincoln Convertable that I am going to try to obtain

Excellent use of an older Studie that most likely would have been left to decay.
Also agree with the suicide door suggestion.
Perhaps a radio (sound system) intergerated into the existing dash.
Lastely, put some of the trim back on to identify it as a STUDEBAKER...........so that those born after 1960 will know what it is.

                      Two questions:
                      1) Flames front to back or bottom to top?
                      2) Ribs or brisket? (I'll queue up for either)

Seal up the firewall and you'll have a nice smoker..
Oh, and watch out for that hood latch!

Enclosing the BBQ with cowling, you won't see the firewall at all, pics when finished.

Suicide doors? I was thinking about making the vent doors feed air to the fire.
