    Hi All,

We've finished the 53 Commander and I wanted to thank all of you for your contributions! Your help has been invaluable. Here's a photo link, enjoy. https://picasaweb.google.com/1109163...TQvsWjsYOi2AE# We're taking the Commander to Joseph, Oregon next week for the Oregon Mountain Cruise.

    Congratulations,

I'm curious; why did you take the rear clip and top off?

    Regards,

      Pretty sweet, John!
Are those back-up lights mounted to the '55 rear gravel guard? Much better looking than cluttering the deck lid. Wish I had thought of that.

            Hi Don,

The trunk was rusted beyond repair as was the roof. We used a 56 Hawk trunk and a 53 Champ roof for the repairs. It was a "bit" ambitious but worked out.

            Regards,

              Hi Brad,

The back-up lights were from the local Pepboys Auto store near by. Worked out way better than expected.

Very nice car, John; congratulations. An unusual color combination and well-done. What a sweetheart.
                Cool beans! BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

                  Hi Bob,

Thanks. My wife, Trudenka, drove the Commander into Petaluma (about 6 miles) today for gas. It was her first time behind a Studebaker wheel and loved every minute (I'm soooo glad I put in power steering). She's decided this is her car now.

                  Regards,
                  John Brayton
