I finally finished cleaning up this picture. We're going to use a 1905 Studebaker Colonial Surrey as the logo for our Carriage driving club. I think it came out pretty good. Have a peek:


Since the ad is over a hundred years old, I don't think there will be any copyright issues. You can see the progression. At first I doctored the picture to extend the landscaping and decided that it was a bit much as a letterhead. Then I cut the Surrey, horse and passengers (labourously, pixel by pixel) out of the picture and you have the finished product. The President and Vice-President of our club are really excited. I'm rather pleased it's a Studebaker.

By the by, the bit in the horse's mouth is called a Liverpool. The reins are set in the severest position, Bottom Bar, and you can see the driver is really pulling on that bit. Yet the horse is still flying along at a cracking good pace! That horse has a mouth like iron! He wouldn't be a pleasant horse to drive.
