What is the correct fuel pump pressure for a 259 V8 with a Carter 4 barrel?

The Carb. has nothing to do with it, the fuel pump has everything to do with it! If you are are using the standard 259/289 small bowl Carter or afermarket replacement Airtex pump 3.5 to 5 PSI is considered normal, if a high volume Avanti or "Jet Thrust" Type about 6 PSI.
