Electrical: Ignition ID

Is there a way to identify an ignition switch by sight? I'm in need of a set of keys and not sure what type of switch I have.

You can tell difference from Yale and Hurd by the key. The Hurd s a shorter key and a groove only on one side. The Yale is longer. Try inserting key blanks into the lock.
I am trying to ascertain whether the Hurd ignition lock will fit into any ignition switch housing and also if there is a difference between the key start ignition lock of 1955 and the older ones used in 1953-54 locks.
