Neat car, have seen it many times. And John Kelly (the owner) is one of the nicest Studebaker guys you would want to meet!Paul

I've seen this one in person. It's really neat!!! There was a story told that there were 6 studebaker lark taxi's in a junkyard outside Wilson, N.C. I tried to get access 3 times, closed, no one around, disconnected phone. It was many years ago, now I guess just folklure.
take care

When I was a kid growing up in Woodbridge, New Jersey I remember the local taxi service had one taxi, a 61 Lark being used. They were located directly across from the train station parking lot, next door to the candy store where I made my usual stop when there was change in my pocket. A few years later (1965?) I bought a 61 OHV 6 from Artie Cutler in South Amboy who told me it had been in a taxi & was on its 3rd rebuild, which I installed in my then 59 Lark. I dont know if it was from the same taxi in Woodbridge or another, but it sure ran strong!59 Lark wagon, now V-8, H.D. auto!
