Grrrrrrr!!! I can not get my BBR-660S-equipped 169 CI engine to idle! As some of you may have seen from my last post, I am cleaning up my fuel system after discovering a well-marinated paper bag in my gas tank. I have:
1. dropped and cleaned the tank;
2. blown clean the line to the fuel pump;
3. found split in decayed rubber line from fuel line to pump intake (causing loss of suction), replaced same;
4. found and corrected poor seal on fuel separator bowl (causing loss of suction);
5. rebuilt fuel pump (was in great shape);
6. blew clean the float valve fitting (paper gunk in it);
7. cleaned fuel bowl on carb (paper gunk in it);
8. disassembled carb, blew paper wads clear of fittings & springs
and I STILL CAN'T GET THE DARN THING TO IDLE!!!
It'll start up and run if I open the throttle to about half. It'll rev strong on the high speed fuel circuit, but if I try to let it settle down to idle, it just dies.
Any ideas on what I might be missing? Do I need to pull every single plug from every gallery on the carb and auger them out? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
