  • Ultralights used for transport over the border

This story was sent by a friend that you might find of interest if you are into aviation. It is about the use of ultralights to bring drugs over the border where the stash is dropped from the air and the plane returns to Mexico. The San Diego Ultralight Assoc. operates out of Nichols Airfield. Dayton is a long-time aviation enthusiast and he edits and produces the Southern California Flyer which is a really fine award-winning aviation newsletter and it is referred to in the video interview. Back in the early 50's Dayton went into the navy and I entered the army and our paths have not crossed since.

It isn't just the Mexican border. Similar stuff goes on here. A year or so back the RCMP confiscated two helicopters that had been used to transport BC bud across the line.

Would you believe it? On our local news tonight, after I posted this, a story was aired about the arrest of an elderly couple, their adult son and his adult son who had a grow op on their farm. The police confiscated 2200 marijuana plants - and a small helicopter.

Also last year a stolen Canadian helicopter was busted delivering pot in Northern Washington, the middle of nowhere NW of Spokane.

The pilot was busted and killed himself in jail.
