  • Gas Door - Real Banger [NEEDED]

Well somehow during the restoration process I managed to loose the gas door. Not the cap itself, but the square door on the body that gives you access to the gas tank.

I need to buy one and cannot source one through Studebaker International.

Anyone have one for sale, or know where I can get one? I don't care about condition, as long as it isn't majorly rusted. I need it ASAP. Paint is complete this week then off to the upholstery shop.

    Thanks,
    Shaun

We can GUESS from your Avatar, but it's best to let people know exactly what car you need a part for. Some people have more than one.

The car is a 1959 silver hawk. I am not sure what designation or serial number.

Was there really a difference between gas doors for different years of hawks?

Whatever the case I need one SOON!

        Thanks,
        Shaun

Given the choices offered, I would get the one from Anne. Being from a Golden Hawk it will no doubt make the car go faster and increase its value! ;-)

It is missing more than the springs , no hinge there either, might flop around some on the plastic ties.
