what oil in 58 Packard Hawk, 57 President

i am a little confused. i am using shell straight 30 weight non detergent. dont even know if i can still get it. it has an SB rating. is this ok ?. i was told this is what the car had, straight 30 when new. what am i looking for on the container of oil i buy to be safe, and what weight is the best. what about Castrol ?. thanks for any help. skip

Don't use non detergent oil, use diesel rated oils, read that thread.
