Jeff, I see you caught Jon Myer walking through the Indoor swapmeet with his red & Black Plaid Shirt and his FISH'N hat on! On Webshots, Pg. 4, Frame 11.

Maybe he's Fish'n for a set of NOS R3 heads! :D

Thanks for sharing the pictures Jeff ... I too am glad to see Jon Myers up and about. I'll see Jon, Betty, Michael and Linda the last weekend in April when I go to their place for their Tech meet. I can't wait to check out the progress Michael is making on my Avanti.

Needed a copy of Canon Fox book (mine is worn out library copy). I found my pick of seven, all at a very fair price. Left too early on Saturday morning to meet up with forum members but had good time with Truck Farmers (a really good group) and some really great vendors.

That Avanti II is going to a fellow named Gene Schreiner and, from what I hear, nearly 10% of the tickets on the '55 Speedster for next year are already gone.

Here are a few more pics, including a few folks who didn't make the Forum group picture, as well as photos of the 2012 Speedster Raffle Car.

That is Mark Spicer's car, on the forum here as 'rusty65'. Based on his forum name I'm guessing it's a '65, although maybe not, since it's not rusty:)

I was along side of him coming into town. I dropped back half a car length and rolled down my window as we accelerated away from the light just so I could hear his dual exhaust:cool:

Bob/Gary--

Thanks...have amended the titles on the '58 and the early-oughts Avanti on P'bucket. I referred to the Avanti as "AVX" as distinct from the previous Avanti/Avanti II design that looks more like the Studebaker original. What's the story on the actual AVX? One-off prototype?

Re the turquoise "Commander", a second look at the photo reveals what looks like the edge molding for a vinyl roof near the top of the A-pillar. That plus the brightwork around the side windows suggests this car is actually a '65 Daytona Sport Sedan. If that is the case, and the owner is on the forum, any idea what the build date is on the car? I am informally hunting for a surviving Studebaker that is exactly as old as I am...build date 24 June 1965. (And I'll amend that title on P'bucket too...)

Assuming that's the dark green truck as distinct from the parts-hauler in front of Old Main? If so I'll add pertinent details on P'bucket.

Good evening:

Spoke with Art Thursday by telephone. A surprise call and Good to hear from him and catch up(had been 10 years or more). Shared some of the details of what I have done with the truck since I have had it. Also promised him some photos next week. I was VERY fortunate to have been at the correct place at the correct time when he was selling, and truck has been and continues to be at a good home!

The AVXs were built by another company that did not have the rights to the Avanti name. There were three AVXs completed and a fourth underway. The three cars are a coupe, a T-top and a convertible. After the AVXs, Avanti production resumed, first on Firebird shell and then Mustang.

There were two Lark signs at York. The one in the second building that I think only had one side was already sold for $1000 on Friday. The one in the first building had both sides, one was damaged and was asking $1500.00 was still there Saturday. The one pictured is the one in the first building
