Hey Bob as long as you keep going in a southwesterly direction you should find this place ok,<G> 76 degrees today and will stay that way for the immediate future. Denny will be in Yuma next weekend for the Midnight at The Oasis show, but I will be here. Saturday we will be participating in an open car show in Tempe.( other side of the valley from Surprise) There will be large contingent of Studebakers present from the Grand Canyon Chapter. Show runs from 9am until 1pm and draws around 300 cars. Address, in case you can make it is Arizona Community Church, 9325 Rural Road. Tempe. Nothing planned for Sunday.

Well we don't have much time while on the road yet, at least till we get to New Mexico .
We made it to Shroud OK today , 70 degrees here already ...just wonderful when you've been in 20 degrees for the past few months !
We stopped today in Springfield where the International is going to be.....went to the Bass Pro store ! WOW is all I can say , we'll be back in there when we come back in June for sure .
Saw a Studebaker along the way today , along route 44 between St Louis and Springfield at a place called " Bob Gasoline Alley" was going 70 , couldn't tell if it was a 59 or a 60 but it was green .
Hope to get into New Mexico by tomorrow then get on some route 66 for awhile.

I thought I knew the area, but I'm not familiar with Shroud. -

Enjoy your visit to our state!

Wish we could get together... maybe next time.

Yes , we stayed there last night.
Just got in at Albuquerque, another nice sunny and warm day. Saw a few Studebakers today, looked to be a coral or light pink 53 or 54 on a open car hauler with a full load of old cars heading east going through Texas....anyone on here having a car like that shipped east?
Also saw a few along 40 about 30 miles east of here along 40 , a dumptruck , a yellow and green speedster and another black CK. Also stopped off a a car museum in Santa Rosa , no Studes but there was some real nice cars in there.

In the case of a regular, all out downpour, it does rain, but not often. However, as the old adage goes "When it rains, it pours", does apply that direction, and you don't want to be in a washout(think dry ravine most of the year) or low spot, because when it really starts to rain, you'll be going for a heck of a ride. That's a rare case though, but it does give rise to a desert that goes into full bloom from the hibernating desert plants waiting for a chance to pollinate from the wet weather.

Had a nice visit today with 2R5, the author of this thread at a car show in Tempe. He took quite a few pictures, maybe he will put a few up, there were about 7 Chapter Studebakers and 3 non Chapter vehicles in attendance. One was an M5 streetrod, one car for sale a 57 wagon, and one out of towner.

Thats right, it can rain hard here at times and people will try to drive through a wash and sometimes get carried away by the swift water movement. This is one reason Arizona now has a "STUPID MOTORIST" law through which law enforcement can write you a citation and/or bill you for your rescue for as much as $2000.00!

Frank, I'm actually in Omaha today! It was in the '60's yesterday, but only in the lower '40's today w/wind. My brother and I drove out to help celebrate Dick and Martha Ann's 60th wedding aniversary. Sorry you aren't here, I would have loved to spend some time with you, but I also envy you being where it is sunny and warm enough to be at a car show. We can't even do that in North Carolina yet.

Nice to hear you are attending Dick and Martha's anniversary Joe, by golly I do wish we could have attended it. Wow, man that is a long drive , if you drove from NC. Did they have it at the Sky Line Manor or someplace else? Dick and Martha have been in our Husker Chapter forever it seems. It has been rather toasty here the last few days,88 yesterday, 83 today and that is about 10 above normal. Give them our best wishes! Headed home from the Goodguys show at 3pm, getting too hot, no shade. Heck of a problem to have, this time of yeaar, don't you know. Drive home safely!
