What would be a good front spring for an Avanti II? The Studebaker HD would seem to be too heavy for the chevy engine.

Considering their tendency to sag anyway on an Avanti, the HD springs are a good way to go. I installed the standard Avanti HD springs on my mine...probably what Avanti Motors used as well. I'm no automotive engineer but it seems to me that if you combine stiffer front springs and shocks and less stiff rear leaf springs and less stiff setting on the rear shocks it will help with weight transfer for better handling and tire hookup on acceleration. Keeping about four psi more air the front tires than the rear helps in that regard as well.Poet...Mystic...Soldier of Fortune.
