  • Single vs. Dual Action?

How does one tell visually if the fuel pump on my '48 Land Cruiser is a single or dual action version? It has AC noted on top, but I haven't removed it from the engine mounting to see if there are any additional markings on the body of the pump itself. Was hoping to order new gaskets from Stude International and I'm not sure which ones to get....

    Thanks, Robert

I assume someone will correct me if I'm wrong..

Dual action may refer to a vacuum pump to augment the windshield wiper. If so there will be a vacuum line going from the pump to the wiper motor, or somewhere.

Dual action has extra hoses to add vacuum to the wipers when engine vacuum drops. It's a much bigger pump and you can see the extra plumbing.

I must have a single action as there is only fuel coming in and going out. Thanks for the help!

If you have Electric Wipers that won't be a problem, however if you don't, it will.
Someone may not have looked hard enough to find the double fuel pump, it has two diaphragms one for each, and cores for rebuilding and rebuilding kits are out there.
The Cellar, Antique Auto Parts may be able to help.
