  • Used car lot Studebaker find- '55 Commander coupe

This is called an original car and it may very well be. The black paint is badly faded and is probably original. It is also said to be driveable and my friend said he was told it had disk brakes.

    Doesn't look bad at all.

That is a very decent looking Coupe, certainly the most desirable of the Collection, I'll bet it has other "upgrades," besides the "Disc. Brakes"!

The unusual color combo could very well be original.

Cool! Get it and drive it is what I'd do...well...maybe start on a little work here and there...and we all know where that would lead!

1961 Four Speed V8 "FLAMINGO" is a rare car in comparison to a stock 1955. There were few 1961 cars made in that particular combination.

A friend is now doing a ground up restoration of that combination for that very reason.

Looking at this particular '55 I'm seeing 'rat rod' or a rough 'survivor' at best. It will require a pretty penny to bring back to a #2, much less showroom condition.
But then if ya got have it and have an extra $20,000 or so you that would like to part with, go for it.
