53 dome light fixture needed!

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a dome light for the 53 coupe project. I actually have a good lens with bezel but do not have the fixture itself. Any help would be appreciated.

Do coupes have a dome light?
Hardtops have an under dash light and no dome light.

Must be a '53 thing, my '54 Champion Starliner has a Dome Light.

53 Coupes didn't have dome lights, only under dash courtesy lights.
I think I have a fixture in a 55 coupe if you need it.

Hi Guys,

So, 53 coupes don't have a dome light. The picture in STUDEBAKER'S FINEST on page 150 of a 54 coupe shows the type of lens and bezel I have. Since I've wired the dome for the light I still would like to install one. Thanks for your help and I'm still looking for a light fixture (I'll pm Tex and see if the 55 is like the one in the picture.).

A quick look at the 53-58 body parts catalog shows the same part number for the lamp assemblies from 53-57 for all body styles except 57L. It specifically says the dome lamp was not used on 53 Champion and Commander C bodies. Under the hardtop section it says "All except 58" but it only lists bulbs (6v or 12v) for 54 and up.
