Great car.
I don't think I've ever seen that roofline on a Stude before.

Images like these are what keep me going! I only fear I have started too late; I will never find all the missing pieces.

I have a chance to buy a light blue one with white roof, a Commander overdrive car. It runs and drives very well and needs very little in the way of cosmetics to be really nice. Even the grille has been rechromed. Although I don't really need another car I think I'll pull the trigger on it anyway.

That's almost identical to the one in the SNM.

I have always thought this model has not received the respect it deserves. Great looking car. Compare to a 52 anything else.

There was one Commander H/T two tone blue that showed up at our local zone meets 20yrs ago,it was a beauty !Havn't seen it for a few years, word has it the owner lost interest & it languishes in a garage near Dundas Ontario. If it ever shows up for sale this is one man who will be all over it.
The subject car is a beauty also.

That is gorgeous! What is the bottom color? (I know it is green, but what kind? Is it a stock color?)

Yes, stock or very close to stock Colors.
I think the Guy in the last Pic is thinking, Hmmm... that nose is not how I remembered early
1950's Studes! :D

There is a 52 Starliner that has been converted to bulletnose, 51 I think. Looks pretty good. Studebaker should have offered the hardtop sooner.

I agree, if offered in 50 or 51 sales would have been thru the roof, Guess they were too busy with the new V-8

The bottom color is Rio Green. The Rio/Shadow green combo is by far the most common of those I have seen.
Frank, the one you are looking at would be Maui blue and shell ivory, (which is what my Champion was). They made single color 52 hardtops, but I don't understand why. These were born for 2 tone.
The click below on paint colors is lifted from the TW article many years ago on these models.

The color appears different because the car is in shadow. The top almost looks black although I'm sure it is not. Too bad there are not any interior shots.
