Loss for North Star Chapter - Jim Rock Obituary
My condolences to the Rock Family.

Taken From the North Star Chapter Newsletter:
    In Memory of Jim Rock
It is with shock and extreme sadness that we announce the
passing of long time SDC and North Star Chapter member
Jim Rock. Jim joined the NorthStar Chapter in 1987 when he
purchased his 1953 Commander. He was a very active member
of the club, holding many positions on various committees and
as a member of the board. Jim was always there to help at the
shows or swap meets. And the ’53 was always present
    – polished, spotless and looking fine.
A true “Studebaker Guy,” Jim will be missed.

From the St. Paul Pioneer Press:

Jim was a guy that you could absolutely count on to be there for the Chapter. We are all still pretty much in a state of shock and will miss him even more at every meeting or event this year when we'll not see him there.

This is a major loss. Jim was a nice guy. I helped them with information and parts when they were doing the '53 Stariner over.

This is the second obituary for someone that I knew for quite a number of years and were younger than me, today alone.

I couldn't get to anything from the posted link, even after I truncated some of the material off. Is there an error in the link?

His Studebaker is one of the best I've seen, shown here at the Labor Day Hugo, MN car show.

Thanks Henry, sorry I could not make the meeting. I hope you didn't mind me posting this thread, but I did reference it as being taken from our chapter newsletter. Just enabling more people to see it that may be interested.

My wife and I have known the Rocks since they joined the North Star Chapter. We heard about the passing of Jim last week down here in Phoenix and wish to pass our thoughts and prayers on to the Cheryl and the family. Had many good times with them at all of the gatherings. Jim will be missed.
