  • Speedometer Identification

Need help in identifying a NOS speedometer in my possession. It has the following stamps on the case: 565GBG72 and a circle with SW NSP 953 inside, as best as I can decipher. It fits a 3.75" hole. The glass has 0 to 200 reverse printed on the backside, so it is obviously a metric unit although the units are not identified. It has a black face with aluminum center and red needle with black hub. It has a chrome bezel much like the later Larks but smaller in diameter. I suspect that it might be a truck unit. If the description isn't sufficient to identify it, then I'll have a go at posting a picture.

The Black hub I.D. 's it as a 1960 Lark, The '59 had a full sweep needle and was all Red/Orange.
It would be a metric '60 Lark suitable for a '60-'64 Champ as well.

The Silver center on the background, I.D.'s it as the base model Lark "Deluxe" as used in Champs also, the Regals are Gold.

May be of some interest to our Canadian Forum Members.
