  • 1949 Champion convertible production order questions--car sold new in Milwaukee

Got the production order for my B-I-L's '49 Champ convertible. It says "7412 Leather" in the "Trim No." block but there's no explanation of what the "7412" means, and there is no such info in the June '90 TW Fred Fox article on '49's. Any idea?

Also, the car was sold at Al Hundt Motor Co. in Milwaukee. I have an address of 2797 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. that I paid the archives for, but that particular dealer card is dated 4/62. I'm wondering if anyone knows if that was the address in the late '40's as well.

    Thanks!

When I googled Al Hundt Motors, this site came up: http://www.sois.uwm.edu/dl/2006/bvhs...ours/tkklw.pdf I did not see Al Hundt listed there but if you look in the Google link info it shows a KK Ave. address. Perhaps if you contact this historical society they will have some info.

Never mind.... KK is short for Kinnickinnic. Google lists 2799, same building. You still may want to contact them though.

Is there a decoder list for the Studebaker Production Order "TRIM NO." block? When I asked questions about my PO all were answered except the meaning on the Trim NO. 7843 and here so far no explanation for Bill's "7412 Leather". When I ask the SNM the same trim no. question there wasn't any reply.
