  • George Gow--Mississauga ON, 1970s?

    Hi all--

Got an email from the guy who owns that neat little Polish Syrena 104 in Dundas; he mentioned an acquaintance from his childhood days in the 70s in Mississauga, a gent named George Gow who he thinks may have been an SDC member because he always drove Studebakers. Brian (Syrena guy) recalls there was a 30s Stude sedan in Mr Gow's driveway almost constantly, and that his daily drivers--summer and winter--were a series of Studebakers acquired from the southern states, one of them a really nice Golden Hawk (the sight of which, being driven in salt and snow, drove Brian and his brother nuts even back then!).

The 70s is too early for the Hamilton chapter, which was founded in 1988, but perhaps Mr Gow was an Ontario chapter member at some point...does anyone happen to recognize the name?

Brian also made note of two Larks at a salvage/scrap yard near Huntsville (well north of Toronto in cottage country). If I'm ever up that way I'll hunt for 'em...
