  • Stock leather interiors

I always like asking trivia type questions here because I always learn something. Aside from the 1957 hawks and the Packard hawks and the 1955 Speedster what other years and models had leather interiors offered from the factory? I'm also curious about any special orders for models where it was never advertised. I guess we could talk about pre-war models, too.

Most all of the cars built in the earlier 30's and before.
I think a few '53 Commander HT's came with leather interiors.

I think leather interiors were available off and on for a long time though the '57 Golden Hawk 400 was the last I know of to have leather. In the the early 60s I bought a '50 Champion four-door for a beater driver (for $50). It had original leather seats (liberally patched with duct tape) and a vinyl headliner. I think it may have been a taxi at one time. Then about 20 years ago the local Ford dealer took a '56 President Classic in trade. It was all black with a black leather interior (original).

Could they park them any closer?

I believe that the 56J offered a all leather interior as an option. This based on the grey GH that was on the cover of a Hemmings publication.

                        Leonard,

You seem to have a great old picture for every topic. How in the world do you keep track of your archives?

Somehow in all this clutter, I can usually find things. It is the ones I have recently looked at that I pull my hair out looking for. []

I have always wondered if they really had two Packard Hawks for this photo shot or whether they just simulated the second one.
