1972 Avanti II - Clean! 74,000 miles - Original Corvette 350c.i. motor - $8490 (oakland rockridge / claremont)
1972 Avanti II, root beer brown exterior (original color), caramel leather interior, sun roof, the original Borani wire wheels in good shape with Michelin tires. It still has the original motor in it, which is a 300 hp Chevrolet 350 with a turbo 400 automatic transmission. This series of Avanti was manufactured at the South Bend Indiana plant and is one of less than 150 manufactured that year. Car runs excellent, drives like new. Has never been in an accident. I am the third owner.
Only 74k original miles!
$8,490
Car is located in the Rockridge district of Oakland; two blocks from the Rockridge BART station.
Please call Mark at (510) 658-6885 with interest or to make an appointment to inspect or to discuss an offer. Serious inquires only please. Thank you....

It's also on eBay with an opening bid of $8,000.
Not that it's a big deal, but I think it is an earlier model titled as a '72. Unless they changed mid-year, all '72s had the 400 cid engine.

The serial number will tell what model year it really is. AFAIK, all 1972 came with a 400 engine. There were only 101 1972 models.

One of the worst years IMHO with the underpowered, smog motor.

I think not. 1970-1972 was the year/s they lowered the HP numbers in the books, but left the engines 'tune-able'. After 1974 sure, you would have a 'smog motor'

My 1972 400 says 170HP in the books, So we took it apart, added a cam, and carb. We ditched the distributor, they messed with it. I changed these items and it is over 300 HP, still has the stock pistons, never been bored. TORQUE from these engines is amazing.
