So I've been working on this body for months. Some of the fiberglass was broken, cracked, pierced. All fixed now. Since I took on this project as a personal challenge i thought I'd take a crack at painting it myself. All went well until the clearcoat, which looked as if I had opened a fruit stand on my car. So I stripped it off and tried again. Trunk, hood and doors came out acceptably, but at that point I decided I was sick of painting and didn't want to spend yet more $$$ on paint that would just wind up being sanded off in my driveway. So I gave the shell to the professionals at Shippan Auto Body in Stamford. A few pics of the progress are attached. Hope you enjoy them.

Ain't it absolutely AMAZING how easy a pro can make the painting project look? I have never been able to mask a rear window opening without 20 pieces of paper and a roll of tape... expecially one from an Avanti!
