  • Koni shocks

Someone just put a set of Koni Shocks on Ebay. Pretty rare and quite a treat to have on your car ..

Agreed, Koni are the best hydraulic shocks ever made. However, today's heavy-duty gas-filled shocks are actually better riding and handling. I put Koni on the front of my E12 because I found a NOS pair for cheap, but unless I were restoring an Avanti for which they were an option, I wouldn't pay a lot more than the modern gas shocks cost.

I actually would pay... of all the shocks that I've had, the only ones that really seem to last long term are Koni and Bilstein. Got Monroes on my pickup truck (only set I've had) and I haven't put enough miles on it to comment on durability but I wished they had more damping right out of the box. Had really poor life from Boge and KYB, and while they are a good value, the Gabriel "classic gas" are kind of meh, IMHO. They are cheap and do the job, but out of only a couple sets that I've bought, I've had one bad right out of the box.
