Since doing some work on my truck and having the exhaust "refixed" I can now hear my engine run. I think I am hearing a pounding, okay I do hear it just don't want to admit it. I liked it better when the exhaust shops work covered up the noise! My question is how easy are the champion engines to get? I might decide to rebuild one while this one is dying out. I can't afford one of Cathcart rebuilds although that would be sweet, just plug and play. I only need the short block since everything else I have is fine. Might even ponder putting something bigger in if it wasn't alot of reworking what I have.

Too bad we're so far apart, Jerry. I've got one out of a '52 that was a good runner, but smoked a bit. Free for the taking![:p]

I have no problem buying dinner for you guys after you bring one of those to lovely Ohio. Heck I would even spring for dessert of your choice:D Thanks for the offers that was awfully nice of both of you. I found that if I turn the radio up the noise goes away:) how about that fix.

I've found from personal experience, thats not a good fix. Its much easier to fix an engine BEFORE it absolutly breaks.

Ours runs okay currently, but we are in the Houston area and wouldn't mind taking that spare off your hands :)
