I just broke my drivers door glass on my 58 President 2 door hard top. Any suggestions, or if you happen to have one to sell me. Thanks Jim 732-278-5759

A good glass shop should be able to cut one for you as I am pretty sure it is just flat glass. They sell sets of all for side windows on ebay. If you don't have any luck with those sources, send me an email and I can sell you one I have here.

Does your glass have the metal trim around it, or just plane glass? How much?

If you happen to stumble in to a glass shop that still has their old patterns, tell them you need a 4193T. Bet they haven't used that one in a while! (EVER!)

I was thinking, oh come on no body will need that number. Than I got a call from the people that sell on ebay from Pleasanton Ca. The page with the part numbers for my car was missing and I gave him that number. What are the odds? If I can't find a better way of doing this I'm going to overnight the frame to him. Thanks Jim R

Might want to call Jim over at Wisconsin Studebaker. I am sure he would have an nos one.

the glass & frame are the same as early Lark hardtop & conv.

I disagree. If I understand correctly, we are talking about the one-year-only '58 Hardtop. Except for the corresponding Packard equivalent, the only glass on this car shared by another car is the windshield. All other glass is unique to this year and model.

And BTW: While the windshield and front vent glass are the same between an early Lark hardtop and convertible, the doorglass and quarterglass and not shared between the two bodystyles. They are different.

I was wondering about the windshield since I'll be needing one. Do you know if the windshield is the same in the 4 door President and Packard as mine? And what year Larks? Thanks Jim R

After all the looking I found a guy to change the glass just 8 miles from my home. Problem resolved!

Yes. Wrap-around windshield starting in mid-55 (Why don't we ever just say 55 1/2 like other car makes do?) thru 58 sedans and wagons.

Because they have a name! I believe it's Alta Vista.

The vent windows and front door glass ARE the same '58 to '62 on Hardtops & Verts, just as Barry said..

It seems to me, there is about a 1/2 in difference in glass height between hardtop and convertible. If I remember right the convertable was taller. They do carry different part numbers.
