After reading forum comments on "estate sales" I think some of you guys are a little premature in predicting the value demise of the Studebakers that are presently available for sale. The simple reason that younger people are not buying into Studes and that most are owned by older folks is that most of the young people now days don't have a lot of expendable cash to spend and the older ones do. A Studebaker in good condition will always attract a buyer if the price is within reason. I have had my Hawk in several car shows this summer and at each one I have had inquiries if I would sell it or where they could obtain one like it in driving condition. I attended an auction last fall where a 61 Hawk in running condition but needing restoration went for $18,000.00 so I think they are worth more as an investment than money in the bank at 1 percent interest. This recession isn't going to last forever and collector cars will be back big time and Studebakers will be among them.
