  • Avanti turcoise seat upholstery.

    Found this eBay ad.
Is this exact match to the original turcoise interior?
    Anyone bought from them?

Or, where can I buy turcoise seat covers?
I know I can buy seat covers in another color, and a rattle can with turcoise vinyl paint.

If it is $659.00 for plain Vinyl "Deluxe Interior", I wonder how much his "Regal Interior" Pleated ones cost?

They did not, but I don't mind. My turquoise interior made by the same company is $500/$30 UPS. The turquoise is very close to the factory color.

John, careful of that shipping quote, Len's in Sweden! By far the cheapest shipping would be International Mail.

John. when I decide to buy the seat covers, I will buy them from you,
I didnt know you have them in turcoise. (you didnt some years ago)

And I will pay the shipping cost.

I just just have to decide if I also should replace the rear seat cover.

My Avanti is not restored, and it is proud of that. will this change its feeling?

Yeah, that looks terrible, you better replace it!

Lol! Why would you want to? Looks perfect to me. I guess it could be a problem though, because a different batch of re-production material is not going to be a perfect match.

I would have to see some of it in good light, but that "other guy's" stuff looks way too Green, not enough Silver or Blue to match Avanti Turquoise.

                    I asked seller this.

                    -Hello.
                    I dont understand
"The available stitched pleats are not included in the listing price"
Is it just flat vinyl then, and not what pickture shows?
                    Thanks
                    Lennart.

                    Got a fast answer.
                    -Hello Lennart
Thanks for your inquiry. The listing price covers upholstery with heat sealed pleats. These pleats have a similar appearance to the stitch pleats. Studebaker used both heat sealed and stitch pleats in the Avanti. If you would like a vinyl sample with heat sealed pleats please let us know the color you are interested in and your address.
                    All the best
                    Stewart

                    Is this true?

John, witch one do you sell, heated or stitched?

                    Thanks

Well, they used heat pleats on the door panels and stiched on the seats.

                        Aspalen

The rear seat looks really nice. I'd ask John to send a sample of the material when you decide to buy them. Then you can make a decision on how close you think the color match is.

I'd think the only change you'll note is the new covers will be a little stiffer, just like new seats in a new car. However, that would be offset in my mind, by the fact that the seats look so darn good and compliment the looks of the car.

                          For what it's worth...
I bought a set for my front seats...the drivers seat cover had several issues. Since my car is never going to be original again...that train had left the station long before I bought it (repaint etc...but in the factory stock color), I had my back seat covered at the same time. The vinyl back there looked great but was rock hard.
It didn't cost much extra to have the rear seat cover installed at the same time as the fronts. If you've got 'em, might as well use um since you're doing the front seats.

Mine are the show correct, deep, French stitched pleat. BTW, the fronts will not match the rear exactly after 45 years.
