  • Hawk Driveshaft

Does anyone here know if the type 44 rearend came with a yoke using a u-joint with 1 1/8" cups? I have a G/M driveshaft from a mid 60's Buick Special that will fit my 61 Hawk if I can find a yoke. I'm using a Sag. trans. Or the P/N of the u-joint that we used in the early 60's with 1 1/16" on two branches of the cross and 1 1/8" on the other two? Thanks Jim

There are several 'combo' u-joints designed to adapt one size yoke to another size shaft yoke.
Carefully measure your yoke and look them up at a company like this.

7290 Series to 1310 Series Combination universal joint. Greaseable
    Big Dodge to 1310
    • Dimension A = Dodge 7290... 2.625 inches (2 5/8 inches)
    • Dimension B = 1310...3.219 inches ( 3 7/32 inches)
    • Dimension C = Dodge 7290...1.125 inches (1 1/8 inches)
    • Dimension D = 1310...1.062 inches (1 1/16 inches)
This is just an example, but you can see what kind of info you need to gather....

I have even had good luck at the local auto parts store. If they deal in the name brand stuff, (Moog), they can get you a dual size u-joint. Give me a shout if you can't find one.
