  • 1954 232 V-8 WW carb

My car has been starting hard lately. Yesterday I pulled the top off the carb, and the float bowl was nearly dry. Gas is not leaking outside the carb, but seems to be leaking through the carb into the intake manifold. What should i be looking for?

    1. First, try resetting the float level to specs.
    2. The fuel we're getting today is more volatile and will boil over into the manifold and/or evaporate from the float bowl. An electric fuel pump and pressure regulator is the answer to this problem.
    3. Also, as old pot metal carbs lose their plating, fuel will leak through the pores of the casting. This requires a professional rebuild and replating.

For $175 and your core, you can't beat T-bow.
