Was talking to a non car guy last night when he asked me about my Studebaker T-shirt.You know how everyones got a Studebaker story right? Well, this guy had a Lark clunker many years ago. The guy he bought it from told him the steering box was bad and even included a good one in the deal. Anyway my freind, whos name happens to be Harley of all things, told me he started driving his Lark and loved it ,even though it was a bit tough to keep it on the road with the loose steering. He planed on installing that new steering box but just never got around to it. One night he had his wife and two kids in the Lark,no one had a seat belt on,and he lost her on a sharp turn and "have no idea how many times she rolled going down that embankment". Somehow, the doors stayed shut and no one got thrown from the car,so no one was badly injured. The front seat back collapsed and they were all bouncing from the roof to the ceiling back and forth on every roll. Harleys worst damage was when he struck his knee on the ash tray that was open. Wild ride, and the only Stude he ever owned (even though he thought it to be a well built and sturdy car)
