  • Salt2Salt Bonneville report Aug.15th 2010

Just off the phone with Bob Waitz.Car went through tech with no major issues and they made their first run.
129.648 mph.Car pulled hard at the 6500 rpm they used as a baseline. Both Bob and Greg are very happy with the way it ran but think it may be running a bit lean.Digger Dave is there and after they get the car from impound they plan on tuning the carb to run a bit more rich.Possibly a gear change to add more rpm's but it's small steps. They plan on at least 2 runs tomorrow. This year the car is being run using a Studebaker V8.

Just spoke to Bob and Greg and they are having fun although the car has slowed a bit. They are excited that folks are reading about the car and their exploits on the Racing Studebaker link that Jack Vines(PackardV8) has posted above. There are 9 pages of great info in that thread.Bob will be posting in car videos from runs made as well as wave files of the engine. They plan on making more runs tomorrow trying for a record in another class.
