Well, it seems I've once again done something stupid... I broke that little ball bolt that attaches to the carb, which the linkage hooks on to [:I]. I've checked the usual parts vendors, but I guess it is such a part that usually doesn't require replacement, they don't have them [xx(]. Any suggestions

I bought one on ebay from SASCO.It was supposed to fit a v-8 with 4bbl,but it doesn't.Call them,not all their parts are listed. If they can't help,we can do some measuring and see if mine will help you.

Aftermarket carb manufacturers include them with their new carbs. You may want to check Edelbrock and Holley websites, or even Summit Racing.

Michael,

You didn't mention the engine/carb that you have. I think that you will need to replace the ball and socket as one. I have a couple spares from V8s, one with straight linkage and one that has a slight bend. Both have a 1/4-28 thread. If either looks like what you need, drop me an email with your address and I can send it to you.

Boy do I feel dumb!!!! I realize now why the ball broke... The socket (linkage) and the ball are assembled at the factory in one piece!! Oh well, "live and learn, die and forget it all!"
