  • Checking radiator

The radiator on my '47 Champion sedan has a baffle just below the neck which makes it impossible to see how much coolant is in the radiator. If the rad is filled to the point where coolant is visible over the baffle, the excess will be lost via the overflow tube when the engine warms up. Does anyone know an easy way to check the coolant level? Thanks!

If you don't mind a minor mod, you could add a coolant recovery (overflow) system, that would however require at least a 4 Lb. 1 inch reach pressure cap (or 7 Lb.) with the gasket in the top portion to seal.
