  • New 61 Hawk

I have just returned home from a trip up the valley in my 46 Stude Shop Truck. Where I purchased a 1961 Hawk that has been resting in the previous owners back yard for the past 33 years just waiting for me. I was so excited that I forgot to fill up with gas for the return trip home and ran out about half way. A little hitch hiking, a nice gas station attendant and a good semaritan and I was back to my truck and back on the road. Now I am home and too wound up to go to bed and everybody has left the forum. Even the tilt truck guy has his machine on this time of night so I am having trouble lining up transportation for my new baby.
Hope to have it home tomorrow and have some pictures to share.

Nothing like a little adrenalin occasionally to raise the heart rate and tell you that that you care about something that much.

Let us know how you found it and, of course, the pictures.

Found it thru the local SDC Chapter. Thanks Colin! And am just waiting for the Tilt Truck guy to phone so I can go and get it.
I will be taking pictures today.

Jeez, you've got us excited. As a 61' Hawk owner ourselves, there is a little extra interest on our part here. Awaiting pics. and data.

Got her home this afternoon. Got some pictures of her coming off the tilt truck. But, everybody that was here this afternoon wasn't quite as excited as I was and continued to drink beer and sit in the shade, rather than look at the new aquisition. Got pictures of it coming off the tilt truck, and did manage to get the hood open, but no pictures of the engine compartment, as wife and friends wanted to go eat, rather than look at my new baby. Just got home and have not had a chance to download pictures yet. Please stay with me on this one, as from what I have seen she is a beauty.

Good find/catch. It looks like the quarter stripe is even the correct color.

Okay enough computer time. I am going out to wash her up and find out what I really bought.
