Looks like it worked, that is a Intake Manifold for a WCFB Carter square bore 4 Brl. without the '58-'62 Coil mounts, it was used on '55-'57 Cars and all "C " Cab Trucks.
Looks much better cleaned and painted.StudeRich

WCFB cores go for $25-$75
Prepped...maybe $100
AFB (4bbl) converted from WCFB...$130
AFB Converted, prepped, and painted $150 (ask close about what prepped means)
Shipping... $30+ anywhere in the lower 48 (Fed-Ex ground)
Installation kit... with all gaskets, carb mount studs, nuts, and stainless blockoff plate(s)... $30
Depends on who you talk to...
Some do it for less, so shop around....

In cast iron, these are what I've seen.
An early WCFB (round tube choke stove)
A later style WCFB ( dual tube choke stove)
An AFB style (secondaries opened up for AFB)
In aluminum (aftermarket), I have seen (or have seen pictures of)
Offenhauser V8 4bbl early intake
Fenton V8 4 bbl early intake
Morgan Quademon 4bbl intake.
Weiand V8 4bbl early intake.
Lionel Stone 4bbl (copy of Stude cast iron AFB intake)
Bulldog prototype 4bbl intake
Erb R3 prototype 4bbl intake
I have pic's of most of them, but not on this 'puter...

This is a little off topic but how many different 4 bbl intakes did studebaker use?

Here's the Morgan...
I'll have to look in the archives at home for the others...

Jim Pepper enlightened me/us over on Sonny's Racing Studebakers forum (about the plenum divider difference betweeen an R1, and R2 intake)...and why.

Jeff, you might add to your list the factory R3 intakes, made in both cast iron and aluminum.

Any perfomance advantage with any of these on a stock 289?
I have one that looks like the ones pictured by the poster.
And possibly another that i recalled being taller with larger holes, but im not sure if it still exists.
