    On Pg. 9 of each year's General Specifications Section in the front of the '59-'64 Studebaker Shop Manual it gives the frame thickness.

    These are '59-'61's, they are all the same:

    S-W & F Bodies -14 ga.
    V-W & F bodies -13 ga.
    S & V -D & P Bodies-13ga.
    S & V -J & L Bodies-11ga.
    S & V -Y Bodies-11ga. includes 61V-Y Cruiser, Police & Taxi
    S & V -C Bodies-13 ga.*

    * = except approx 1884 59S-C Models with 14 ga. side rails.

    11ga.= .1196
    13ga.= .0897
    14ga.= .0747

    Many of you will be surprised as I was, that they did not use the good 11ga. frame on Hawks (C or K) until 1962!
    That is of course for 99 9/10% of the remaining Studebakers, which were sold for Domestic use, anyway.

    Note to self: NEVER scrap a '62 to '64 GT Hawk frame!
